Youth Art in the Park is a forum for emerging student artists who would like an opportunity to showcase their art in an exhibition. Young people are bursting with energy. Part of our mission is to help nurture this talent in artists of all ages. Youth Art in the Park is a fun way for boys and girls to express themselves visually and encourage the creative growth of our youth.
The Third Annual Youth Art in the Park will be located in a specially constructed tent which will serve as the Main Entrance to Art in the Park. Students currently enrolled in KISD art classes are encouraged to show their work at this event. The art will be exhibited throughout the three day event. Each student is encouraged to attend the event to represent their work and discuss their process with the general public.
Eigth grade students from KJH Advanced Art were asked to design a poster promoting Safe City Tarrant County based on the theme “It’s Not Okay” Their posters were to depict things that are not
okay such as drug abuse, cyberbullying, gangs and violence in general. The winner of the contest will receive a Walt Disney World Vacation. Click here to check out the submissions from out local students or you can stop by our Youth Art Booth where some of these works will be displayed. Safe City is an organization that is striving to make Tarrant County the safest metro area in the country. To find out more about Safe City click here.
The City of Kennedale is participating in an effort by the US Fish and Wildlife Services. The goal is to implement awareness and conservation projects for migratory birds in our area. For it’s participation in this project our city will recieve a grant of $70,000. In an effort to help raise awareness and support Kennedale’s efforts overall our KISD students will be hosting an art exhibit at the KHS P.A.C. Some of these works will also be displayed in our Youth Art Booth during the 2012 Art in the Park festival as well. To check out a sampling what our student artists have done click here.
